Add your first domain
Step-by-step guide to adding a domain to DomainCare and confirming all checks are green.
Add your first domain
DomainCare runs continuous checks on every domain you add — uptime, SSL, DNS, email deliverability, and more. This guide walks you through adding your first domain and confirming everything is working.
New accounts include a 30-day trial covering one domain with full feature access. No credit card required.
Before you begin
You need:
- A DomainCare account. Sign up free if you don't have one.
- The hostname you want to check (e.g.
example.com). Do not includehttps://or a path.
Steps
1. Sign in
Go to app.domaincare.io and sign in with your account.
2. Click Add domain
On the dashboard, click the Add domain button in the top-right corner (or in the empty state prompt if this is your first domain).
3. Paste your hostname
Type or paste your domain name into the input field. Use the bare hostname — no protocol, no trailing slash.
example.comSubdomains are also valid:
app.example.comClick Add domain to confirm.
4. Wait for the initial scan
DomainCare immediately queues a full scan across all check types. The first results appear within about 30 seconds. You will see a loading state on each check tile while the scan runs.
5. Confirm all tiles are green
Once the scan completes, each check tile shows a status badge:
| Badge | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Healthy | Check passed, no issues found |
| Warning | Non-critical issue detected |
| Down / Error | Actionable problem requires attention |
| No data | Check could not run (e.g. no MX records to check email auth) |
If any tile shows a warning or error, click it to see the specific alert and recommended action. See Uptime checks for an example of what each check reports.
What happens next
DomainCare continues checking your domain on a recurring schedule:
- Uptime — every minute
- SSL — every 6 hours
- DNS — every hour
- Email auth, Registry — every few hours
When a problem is detected, DomainCare fires an alert. You receive a notification through whichever channels you have configured (email is on by default).
Trial limits
During the 30-day trial you can add one domain and use all check types. After the trial ends, subscribe to a paid plan to keep checks running. Your domain and history are preserved either way (per /docs/billing/cancellation).
